A Kentucky-based YouTuber was over the moon with an old used Chevy Silverado he managed to purchase for $2500.

He used some incredible bargaining tactics to haggle the price down from $4000.

While the truck had 350,000 miles on it, he believed that with some smart repairs he would get a fantastic deal on it.

He used it as an example of not necessarily needing a brand new truck when you can get a sturdy work truck for cheap if you don’t mind dinks and scratches.

The Chevy Silverado: A reliable work truck

Kentucky based YouTuber Braden Holland, known online as BradenBuildz was overjoyed with a second hand Chevy Silverado work truck he got for $2500.

He used an impressive haggling tactic by looking over the car and deciding not to take it at the original price of $4000 and walking away.

After he walked away, the seller immediately caved and gave it to Braden for cheaper.

Even though the truck was in rough shape, with a bit of TLC, he believed the vehicle could be a working reliable truck in no time.

How much did he spend on repairs?

The truck mainly suffered from issues with its electricals and fluids.

The differential oil was particularly old and full of debris that was making it dangerous, like metal shavings.

Once Braden had replaced the fluid and dealt with a mysterious ticking noise that the truck was making, which was revealed to be the exhaust manifold gasket, it ran relatively smoothly with a slight chatter.

He upgraded the upholstery in the truck’s interior and replaced the old radio with a bluetooth one that was compatible with Apple Carplay.

All in all his repairs cost him a further $1500.

Braden turned the old beaten up Chevy Silverado into a reliable truck in good condition.

He said he would always buy old work trucks from now on because he wanted to be able to use them for anything without worrying about scratching the paint or denting them.

His new (old) truck is testament to the fact that an old vehicle that’s been written off can actually become someone’s most reliable everyday work truck with just a bit of TLC.
