Kevin Durant – or KD as a lot of people call him – is one of the highest-paid athletes in the NBA, with an estimated net worth in the region of $300 million.
His car collection is worth $4 million, and that almost sounds humble, considering that’s equivalent to just over one percent of his total net worth.
Interestingly though, just one of his cars alone accounts for well over 50 percent of that total collection value.

The car in question is the Ford GT40, which is worth around $2.5 million, depending on year and condition.
It is also the only seven-figure car he owns, because all the other ones are worth ‘just’ six figures.
Why the Ford GT40 is known as the ‘Ferrari Killer’

This is one of the most interesting stories in motorsport but – for some reason – it only became well known to the public with the 2019 movie Ford v Ferrari.
Up until that point, what happened between Ferrari and Ford was something even some car people were sometimes not familiar with.

The plot of the movie was fictionalized for dramatic effect but it is mostly accurate.
In the early 1960s, Ford was inches away from buying Ferrari, but Ferrari’s boss (and founder) Enzo Ferrari changed his mind at the last minute and, according to legend, he wasn’t particularly nice about it.
Henry Ford II was livid about that, and that’s why he asked engineers and mechanics to build a car that would hit Ferrari where it hurts – the racetrack.
The result was the Ford GT40, which won Le Mans, beating Ferrari four years in a row between 1966 and 1969.
The other cars Kevin Durant owns

KD owns a long list of celebrity-worthy cars, including a Ferrari California, a Rolls-Royce Phantom and a Lamborghini Aventador.
He also owns a customized Chevy Camaro SS and a 6×6 ‘Apocalypse’ truck known as the ‘Hellfire’.
Based on the Jeep Gladiator, the truck costs anywhere between $150,000 and $250,000 depending on how the customer wants to spec it.
Still, Kevin Durant has earned a whopping $397 million throughout his career, and that’s with NBA salary alone, not including endorsement deals, so he can definitely afford it.
