The Lamborghini Countach that starred in The Wolf of Wall Street is heading to auction in December

The Lamborghini Countach made famous in The Wolf of Wall Street is about to go on sale in New York.

Not only is it one of the most memorable vehicles in modern film history, it’s an incredibly rare beast, with only 12 made in this specification.

And Scorcese’s The Wolf of Wall Street used not one, but two of them.

For the most memorable scene, one of the sportscars was almost totaled.

In the scene, Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays Jordan Belfort, crawls to the Countach in a drug-induced stupor.

He opens the door with his foot and crawls inside, before ultimately crashing into everything in his path.

The state of the car at the end of the scene was a painful sight to see.

But don’t worry because the example going on sale this year in New York remained unharmed and in pristine condition.

Clad in its all-white color scheme, paired with its on-screen pedigree, this Lamborghini Countach is the first collector car announced for RM Sotheby’s boutique New York sale.

The Wolf of Wall Street Lamborghini Countach will be part of an exclusive auction of extraordinary cars held during Sotheby’s Luxury Week on December 8.

When it crosses the auction block, the legendary Countach is expected to fetch somewhere between $1,500,000 and $2,000,000.

The white Lambo was just one of a number of exotic cars to feature in the period film.

The producers got to play with the period vehicles of the 1990s and 1990s.

And, as any car aficionado will attest, this era provided the world with supercars that adorned the bedrooms walls of many a teenager.

Also starring in the film was a Ferrari 512 TR, an Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio, a Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class, a Jaguar E-Type Convertible, and a Porsche 911 Carrera.
