This driver shelled out $5,000 to fix a headlight on his Lamborghini Urus – only for another issue to follow afterwards.
A technician who worked on the car took to Reddit to ask for the opinions of Lambo enthusiasts.
He’d worked on the car, which had come in with a yellow tint on one headlight.
After fixing it, he noticed a problem and wondered if this would be a dealbreaker for drivers.
This Lamborghini Urus headlight needed fixing – but then another problem reared its head
Posting in the Lamborghini subreddit, a technician appealed for advice from Lambo fans.
“I recently worked on a Lamborghini headlight where the passenger side DRL had a noticeable yellow tint after a collision repair,” Reddit user NoCorner1482 wrote.
“I corrected it, and now that side looks clean and crisp again.”
So far, so good.
Would mismatched headlights bother you after a repair?

But here came the kicker.
“Now the driver side headlight (which wasn’t repaired) looks slightly yellow in comparison,” he continued.
“From a distance it’s subtle, but up close you can tell there’s a difference in tone between the two.
“Would you leave it as is since both headlights are technically functional, or would that mismatch bother you enough to want both sides corrected to match perfectly?
“I’ve always leaned toward doing both to keep things uniform, but I’m curious how others see it.”

The sentiment on the subreddit broadly seemed to be the same – fix it to make it uniform.
“I don’t understand why this would happen in the first place. My car is probably worth less than one of those headlights, but I still wouldn’t be happy if they ‘fixed’ it like that,” one user wrote.
“It’s a car. Symmetry is important. Keep it uniform,” another said.
It seemed like an agreed upon matter – so why hadn’t the technician made it uniform?
Insurance made this whole thing more complicated
Further down the thread, NoCorner1482 clarified why a dual replacement might not be so straight forward.
“Insurance companies usually give you a hard time getting both sides replaced, due to headlight cost,” he explained.

Replacement assemblies come somewhere between $5,000 and $7,000 each, so you can imagine why an insurance company might not be overly keen on this propsect.
Particularly if one light is being replaced to ‘match’ the other.
But with the sentiment broadly being that the lights should match, we wouldn’t be surprised if the owner ended up biting the bullet and shelling out for a matching pair in the end.
After all, as many Redditors pointed out, this is a Lamborghini Urus we’re talking about here.
It’s a car with a lot of prestige – it says a lot when a ‘low price’ is still clocking in at over $100,000.
And when it has bronze wheels on? That’s a cherry on top.
