This was the moment that Lewis Hamilton drifted in his $4 million Ferrari F40 – and Kim Kardashian delivered the perfect response from the passenger seat.
The celebrity couple was in Japan, attracting global attention over their relationship.
While there, Hamilton took an F40 out for a spin on the streets, demonstrating its awesome power.
Kardashian, his passenger princess for the night, was along for the ride, and she could only muster up a few words.
Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian hit the town in a $4 million Ferrari F40
Jalopnik hailed this moment as the ‘coolest hard launch ever’, and it’s hard to disagree.
In case you’re not in the know, a hard launch is when a romantic relationship gets put on full display.
For most people, that would be a Facebook relationship status or maybe an Instagram story.
But for celebrity couples, hard launches tend to be a bit more…demonstrative.
Entering from stage left is Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian.

Rumors have abounded for a long while about these two, each a sensation in their respective spheres of influence.
Now the couple has all but made it official.
And what better way to show the world that you’re going steady than by letting a Ferrari F40 loose on the streets of Tokyo?
Just a few days shy of the Japanese Grand Prix, Hamilton pulled up to the Daikoku Parking Area in a stunning red Ferrari F40.
Now the F40 has been something of a fascination for Hamilton for a while, as he’s previously expressed a desire to create a modern version of the car, produced between 1987 and 1992.
But now he owned one for real.
Plenty of people were on hand to snap photos and take videos, as you might expect.
Wanting to show off what the car was capable of, Hamilton proceeded to do some serious drifting – in a move he’s since called ‘Tokyo Drift Vol. III’.
Footage was later shared to Instagram by account 13thwitness, who is the director/creator for Hamilton’s Tokyo Drift videos.
“Best night ever! I can still feel the adrenaline,” he told Supercar Blondie.
“Good vibes and loads of fun. We like to keep it fun and spontaneous every year. Never a dull moment, that’s for sure!”
It’s just about as epic as you’d expect, and it produced as much smoke as you would anticipate.
All the while, Kardashian was in the passenger seat with a big smile on her face.
As the dust settled, a cameraman drew in closer, where Kardashian could be heard delivering her verdict.

“That’s insane,” she said, grinning.
You can say that again.

Celebrity couples are usually renowned for epic car collections
In the world of celebrities, we’ve seen a lot of couples with impressive collections between them, from Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
Things are a little different in the Hamilton-Kardashian relationship.
You may recall that Hamilton sold most of his $13 million car collection in order to pursue another expensive past-time – art.
But you may recall that one car remained on his radar.
“If I were going to get a car, it would be the Ferrari F40. But that’s a nice piece of art,” he said.
By contrast, Kardashian is growing her collection more and more.
Her collection includes a Lamborghini Urus, a Rolls-Royce, a Tesla Cybertruck, and a Maybach Sedan.
Most of them are grey to match the color of her house, but it’s an impressive fleet of supercars nonetheless.
