Seven-time world championship-winning F1 legend and current Ferrari driver Sir Lewis Hamilton has just revealed that he has sold his entire car collection to fund a new hobby.

Hamilton hasn’t enjoyed the finest year in his racing career, hitting a few speed bumps in his new Ferrari jersey.

But while the fabled red arrows are looking to bounce back next year, the SF26 might be the only car that Lewis Hamilton will be able to drive.

That’s because he’s just told F1 reporters that his supercar collection has been sold.

Lewis Hamilton empties his garage for a new passion

Despite driving ridiculously fast race cars daily, F1 stars really seem to dislike modern vehicles.

Lando Norris typified this when he said that he hated driving his new McLaren supercars, while Lewis Hamilton also sold his specially-made one-off Pagani Zonda 760 LH because he claimed it was ‘terrible to drive’.

In fact, Lewis Hamilton really doesn’t fancy modern cars, previously claiming that they all look the same.

Only classic cars tickle his fancy now.

With that, ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton revealed that he has sold his entire collection, valued between $13-$15 million.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, knowing his disdain for the vehicles.

He even turned up to the Monza Grand Prix, Ferrari’s home circuit, on a motorbike instead of four wheels – although that might be a nod to teammate Charles Leclerc’s two-wheel fascination.

Back in 2020, Hamilton told reporters: “I don’t drive any of the cars that I own any more.”

That means they’ve been gathering dust for five years.

Still, some wicked vehicles have now been sold.

Hamilton used to own a Mercedes-AMG Project One, a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, and a Shelby Cobra 427, among others.

So, what is he into now?

Art.

‘Art’ is at its best with four wheels

The F1 driver has revealed that he is now expanding his art portfolio, which he started back in 2020, and saw a halt to any car purchasing.

Speaking back in 2020, he said: “So that’s the sort of thing that I would indulge in, is discovering new artists, and particularly like black artists that are coming out of Africa, for example. So that’s what I generally would buy.”

In the latest conference, he doubled down, adding: “I am into art nowadays.

There is a car in the wild that Lewis Hamilton would own again, though, describing it as ‘art’.

The Ferrari F40, the last car to ever be signed off by Enzo Ferrari himself, has always been a personal favorite of the F1 icon, and he revealed this would be the only car he’d like to have.

“If I were going to get a car, it would be an F40. That’s a nice piece of art,” he added.

Hamilton expressed his desire to work with his new employers to create a new Ferrari F40 with a manual gearbox.

However, the dream was short-lived as the Italian manufacturers revealed that they had no plans to bring back the stick shift.
