Mercedes-Benz has joined forces with Moncler and designer and musician NIGO to create a limited-edition G-Class.

The Mercedes-Benz Project G-Class Past II Future is part of an ongoing partnership between the automaker and fashion brand Moncler.

The limited edition vehicle is a nod to the 1990s with modern updates.

Alongside the G-Class, Moncler has launched a clothing collection, which includes bomber jackets and printed t-shirts.

Mercedes-Benz has joined forces with Moncler

This isn’t the first time Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with Moncler.

In 2023, it unveiled the Project Mondo G, which was basically a G-Wagen in a bubble coat.

Now, the two brands are continuing their ‘creative journey’ and have brought in fashion designer, entrepreneur, and musician NIGO, too.

The Mercedes-Benz Project G-Class Past II Future was initially unveiled as an art piece last year.

Mercedes said the piece ‘brings in 90s culture by merging the iconic G-Class with Moncler’s signature design’.

“The art piece showcases how history inspires future innovations,” the carmaker said.

Now, a limited series of 20 vehicles, inspired by the one-off art piece are set to be delivered to their new owners.

The production version is based on the new G 450d and the new G 550.

It features two-tone exterior paintwork in green and grey, with black accents on the window frames, light metal alloy wheels, and the bumper guard that runs along the vehicle’s flanks.

There’s also a rear-mounted spare wheel with the collaboration logo proudly on display.

Inside, it’s kitted with bold checkered upholstery and has the words ‘Past II Future’ emblazoned on the grab handle. The center console displays the G-Class’s ‘1 of 20’ limited series number.

Mercedes-Benz vice president of communications and marketing Bettina Fetzer said the collaboration took the carmaker into an ‘exciting urban setting’.

“The Mercedes-Benz G-Class Past II Future is a very special new ‘twist’ on our icon,” Fetzer said.

“This limited edition is a fresh take on 90s style and the character that’s made the G-Class a timeless favorite.

“Going from inspiring art to engaging products marks an important step in our creative cooperation and offers a new brand experience captured by the zeitgeist.”
