After someone drew these lines onto a race track and declared only true drivers could spot the fastest route, the internet exploded.
Most car lovers would like to think of themselves as being ‘in the know’ when it comes to race tracks.
That includes those that have never set wheels upon a race track before.
But with this image doing the rounds online, plenty of people are giving their opinion.
A race track is always a place of excitement and drama
Time and time again, we’ve seen how exciting the race track can be.
Nail biting showdowns are par for the course with these spectacular tracks.
Whether it’s a Tesla Cybertruck taking on a 1970 Chevelle Malibu or a Corvette Stingray facing off against a Camaro ZL1, there’s plenty of electrifying races for people to sink their teeth into.
But beyond the thrills and excitement, have you ever considered the strategy behind these races?
Well, an image circulating online will certainly get you thinking about it.

Which of these lines would you choose?
On this image, shared by Motorsport, four lines have been drawn around the curvature of a race track.
The yellow one extends the furthest to the outer ring of the track, given the hypothetical driver an extremely wide turning radius.
The blue and red lines represent a tighter turn around the bend, while the green line represents a more aggressive inside trajectory across the corner.
Which one was the superior route to take?
People weren’t shy about sounding off in the comments section.
“The blue line is the fastest. It takes the smoothest racing line: Break late, wide entry, clips the apex, runs wide on exit. That gives the largest effective corner radius, so the driver can carry more speed through the turn,” one commenter said.
“100% the Green line. Late Apex. Slow in fast out. The green line gets you on the gas sooner right at the Apex coming out of the corner which translates to a higher top speed at the end of the straight resulting in a lower lap time,” another insisted.
“It is absolutely yellow if your car is strong,” someone else argued.
As you can see, there was a wide variety of opinion.
