This 1971 Ford Thunderbird is up for a cut price but it’s no ordinary classic car.

You see, this Thunderbird was actually owned by none other than the original Lois Lane from the first ever screen adaptations of Superman.

The Thunderbird is a cult classic, and this one boasts original features in impressive condition.

It’s even received a reduction in price, so your wildest movie star dreams could come true for a fraction of the cost.

Stay in your own Lois Lane with this Ford Thunderbird

Lois Lane plays a vital role in the Superman franchise, and now you have the chance to own the 1971 Thunderbird Landau used by the movie star actress who played her.

“This T-Bird was purchased brand new by Noel Neill — YES, the ORIGINAL ‘Lois Lane’ from the Superman movies.

“She bought it BRAND NEW from Santa Monica Ford in Santa Monica, California, and with the car comes a copy of the original purchase agreement as proof of ownership history,” stated the listing.

The Hollywood relic’s exterior really is a time capsule, with the original black vinyl top and wire wheel covers, chrome bumpers, and the original trim and brightwork still very much intact.

Inside, there is the original steering wheel, original gauges, and even ‘Superman Insignias‘, but the most impressive element lies under the hood.

The unique Ford Thunderbird is powered by a 429 Cubic-Inch ‘Big-Block’ V8 engine that is reportedly capable of 360 horsepower, with the seller saying that it ‘starts easy, idles smooth, and runs strong’.

However, it should be noted that some things aren’t exactly perfect.

“As with any vehicle – expect imperfections such as; rock-chips, scratches, dings, dents, etc. to be associated with the vehicle’s age, mileage, and previous use,” the listing continued.

Elements to look out for include dash cracks that are covered by a dash cover, a repaired, cracked door handle, and vinyl bubbles, to name a few.

It has, however, received a cut in the asking price, with the original figure amounting to $22,997. Now though, that has been reduced to $17,997.

So, it’s a small price to pay to own a piece of Hollywood history that’s currently in the hands of Thiel Motor Sales Inc on eBay.

Ford’s enduring appeal

Thanks to the reliability of Ford parts, many of their cars are sold on to enthusiasts to improve existing vehicles.

In fact, a brand new, never used 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback body shell was recently up for sale in Michigan, still in the factory crate, ready to be brought to life.

Plus, the cars also have some famous fans too, with Jeremy Clarkson once driving a Ford GT across France to see if it could be used as an everyday car.

So, what’s stopping you from flying off into the sunset like Superman with this purchase.
