A car-lover was left shocked after discovering a barn find that contained an entire car collection in London, UK, worth tens of thousands of dollars.

The collection belonged to a mystery businessman who amassed a huge fleet of vehicles before deciding to sell them all off.

The mystery man enlisted the help of car enthusiast, Freddie Fison, to help shift the collection – and what a collection it turned out to be.

The huge barn find collection has some hidden gems

Amassing a huge car collection is no mean feat – just ask Rodger Dudding who owns the largest private collection of classic cars in Europe – as well as a whopping 24 Aston Martin Lagonda

Or the 82-year-old businessman from Dordrecht in the Netherlands who had a whopping 230 rare and classic cars stashed away in a church

The mystery owner of this collection spent years buying and adding to his haul of motors and there are some hidden gems, including a 1960 MG MGA, a 1975 Mercedes 350SL, a 1971 Triumph Spitfire MK4, a 1973 Porsche 911, and a 1983 Mercedes 280SL.

There’s also a 1948 MG, a 1955 Morris Minor, and a vintage VW Camper from the 1970s.

In 2021 the owner decided to sell up

However, as the collection grew, he knew he would need more space and with London property prices soaring he decided the most sensible thing to do was sell up.

“Essentially it’s a local businessman’s private collection,” Fison told the MailOnline in 2021.

“Over the last ten years he decided to build his collection, I think starting off with a Mercedes SL, having seen the popularity with the Pagoda and how that raised in price, thought that would be a big investment and obviously a passion project.

“He loves his cars, and since then has been collecting more and more. Trying to find a new home for an indoor space in London for that size is not going to happen – times have changed in ten years.

“I’ve not seen anything like it before in my life,” Fison added.

“It’s basically an insane collection of Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, lots and lots of classic cars – BMW as well.”

Let’s hope he got a good price.
