A pair of adventurers and content creators from Maine, US, borrowed a Tesla Cybertruck and subjected it to a rigorous tow test.

They used it to make deliveries for their business but then pushed it further to test out towing their Grand Design Reflection 28bh RV.

They maxed out the electric pick-up truck’s towing capacity.

Let’s dig into how it did.

Tesla Cybertruck tow test

“The reactions we got driving it around alone were pretty crazy, but people were really expressive when they saw it towing the RV!,” Corey and Jessie Nickerson of Finding Our Someday admitted.

“This is one of two Cybertrucks in Maine right now, so it’s definitely still a novelty,” they continued. However, arguably it’s even rarer in Europe.

Corey was particularly impressed by the ‘biggest windshield I’ve ever seen in my life’ and the ultra-quiet operation of the huge electric car.

First, the family loaded 15 boxes into the Cybertruck’s bed to test its storage capacity.

The truck’s 0-60MPH acceleration felt ‘like a rollercoaster’ and its quiet ride surprised them.

The crew next prepared to test the Cybertruck’s towing ability. So they hooked up their RV, with an adjustable hitch to ensure compatibility.

The results

The Tesla Cybertruck pulled the RV smoothly but quietly, which feels strange when compared to traditional diesel-engine trucks.

However, the Nickersons quickly got accustomed to the Cybertruck’s regenerative braking and the unique driving experience.

“You don’t hit the brake, it like automatically brakes for you,” Corey said.

Despite this, the EV’s towing performance was mixed.

While the Cybertruck can handle heavy loads, it used 46 miles of range for a 19-mile trip while towing the RV. These results show some limitations for long trips compared to diesel trucks.

The takeaway is simple: while the Cybertruck performs well for short trips, it’s not quite ready to replace traditional diesel trucks for extensive towing.

From researching the most ‘Google-able’ key terms to producing evergreen content - it’s been a time of hard work, growth, and success for the editorial team and the Supercar Blondie website. “I like to think of myself as a ‘method journalist’. In other words: I live and breathe whatever I am writing about. When writing about fitness, I trained as a personal trainer, and as a beauty editor, I completed an ‘expert’ in scent diploma with the Fragrance Foundation. “During my tenure at Supercar Blondie, however, I did something I never thought possible: I passed my driving test at the age of 36. One day I’d love to train as a mechanic to better understand what happens under the hood, too. “My sweet spot is providing readers with a ‘takeaway’ (read: something new they didn’t know before) after reading every one of my stories.
