Malaysian car enthusiasts built an Initial D gas station and it’s pure JDM heaven

These awesome Malaysian car enthusiasts actually built a gas station inspired by the manga and anime, Initial D and it’s pure JDM heaven.

Togeya was an abandoned gas station in Malaysia which was transformed by car enthusiasts into a full-scale Initial D fan hub.

The owner, Kam, is a ’90s JDM car fan and pursued the site for months before convincing the current owner to let him have it, renovating it into the ’90s Japanese car lover’s dream.

It mimics Japanese car culture spots, featuring signs, fake gas pumps, and photo opportunities perfect for anyone’s Instagram.

Any JDM car fan worth their salt has to travel to Togeya, an Initial D-themed gas station in Malaysia, complete with a cafe, detailing booth, and awesome display cars.

It was a true labor of love, as the owner has been a ’90s JDM fan for as long as he can remember. He pursued the previous owner of the abandoned old gas station for six months to get permission to renovate.

What he’s created is part photo opportunity, part JDM racing experience. And it will make you feel like you stepped right into an episode of Initial D.

Togeya is made to mimic Japanese car culture spots like Daikoku Parking Area. It’s complete with signs that look straight out of anime, fake gas pumps, and loads of photo opportunity backdrops.

Togeya also has a well-designed detailing bay called Carpet Station with original SwissTrax flooring and built-in drainage.

There is no lack of amazing and iconic JDM cars, including spectacular Mazda RX-7s and Nissan Pandem R33 GTRs. There’s even a McDonald’s-themed car.

The on-site cafe has delicious Japanese food, good coffee, and a surprisingly low-cost car wash service. So you can get your JDM car clean and shiny for less than $10.

This is both a safe space and a community hub for Malaysian JDM fans. But it’s also a one-of-a-kind must-see location for tourists and car enthusiasts alike.
