An American man has hit the jackpot after impulsively buying a huge collection of extremely rare motorcycles and cars from Japan.
Having made the purchases a year ago, YouTube content creator Sean Kerr – of Bikes and Beards – finally received his 40-foot shipping container.
Known to be full of custom Japanese bikes and two cars unavailable to the US, Sean was stunned by the imported cargo.
The bike enthusiast could only remember a handful of the rare motorcycles that were in the container, but after cracking it open, he quickly thanked his previous impulses.
A 40-foot container filled with rare motorcycles arrives from Japan
Motorcycle hauls can be incredibly valuable, with content creators often netting big profits from abandoned bikes or restoration projects, but Sean’s Japanese imports have brought over bikes that have never been seen in the US before.
The first of Sean’s newfound prized possessions came in the form of a lime-green Yamaha XJR-400, popularised through the Bōsōzoku (a Japanese youth subculture that customized road bikes with oversized fairings and large seats).
While this rare motorcycle might not be the weirdest bike you’ve ever seen, its unique frame and languish color would certainly make you stand out from the crowd, especially in the now-outdated Bōsōzoku rallies in Japan.
This bike, in particular, cost $7,800 but was later found to be one of six hand-crafted designs by a popular custom bike builder ‘Fido_09‘.
Other bikes in the collection included Japanese exclusives such as two Motocompactos, a limited-edition gold Honda Monkey Z50J, a Honda Monkey Baja, a Baja XR 250, a Suzuki GSX-R 50, another Honda Monkey but customized as a miniature Harley Davidson, a Kawasaki GPZ 1000 (the upgraded version of Tom Cruise’s bike as Maverick in Top Gun), and more.
40-foot Japanese crate had two more vehicle surprises
The fun didn’t stop with the bikes, as some four-wheeled collector’s items took up the bulk of the container in the back.
The final two surprises came in the form of some Japanese vans, including an ACTY worth over $8,000, which they took to McDonald’s for a well-earned treat.
In total, Sean’s coup made him an estimated $73,950, although he will be keeping some of the bikes for himself.
