Man converting Elvis Presley’s jet into an RV finally drives it for the first time

Elvis Presley may be gone, but his legacy remains, as does his private Lockheed 1319 JetStar airplane.

After patiently resting for around 40 years at the Roswell International Air Center, the plane has undergone a remarkable transformation.

Now, it’s no longer just a plane – Elvis’ jet has been transformed into a beautiful RV.

It all started last year when the YouTuber James Webb purchased the Lockheed 1319 JetStar at an auction.

Although he wasn’t the initial winner after the bidding, James acquired the plane for $234,000 after the original high-bidder stepped back.

It seemed as if the life of Presley’s priceless possession was destined to change!

So, the story continued and James brought the private jet to his workshop.

Initially, he planned to fix the JetStar and try to fly it high up in the skies like back in the good ol’ days.

But when nothing seemed to work properly he changed his plans, deciding to turn it into an RV instead.

In a smart move by Webb, he even managed to raise funds for these repairs by creating JetStar tags for die-hard Elvis Presley fans using the unwanted parts of the plane.

Now, can you guess the estimated cost of this conversion from a private jet to a sleek and stylish RV?

Well, in total it came to somewhere around $331,500.

That’s some serious cash, but James was ready to put it into the project.

Whether big projects like this one or relatively small ones like converting a Santro into a swimming pool, it takes time, creativity, a hefty budget, and a heap of creativity to make things happen.

For this conversion of The King’s jet, it took almost a year of hard work, as well as a lot of cutting and chopping, before the transformed RV was finally ready.

Now it was time to take the thing out of the garage.

James and his team weren’t sure if the converted RV was going to work or not.

However, the team was successful in their endeavor, and James took the first ride himself.

When things went as he’d expected, he was incredibly happy with the success.

While it’s not your usual RV with the most lavish interior, the converted Lockheed 1319 JetStar RV has its own charm with a touch of history attached to it.
