Man hires driver to take him down the 'world's most dangerous road' and it takes a surprising twist from there

A brave man decided to hire a driver to take him down the ‘world’s most dangerous road’, and if that wasn’t scary enough, it takes a surprising twist from there.

The adventure content creator was traveling down Fairy Mountain Road, deep in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region, known for being one of the most treacherous roads in the world due to its narrowness and steep drop-offs.

The driver he had hired to do the job was driving at speed in what looked to be an off-road vehicle, but instead of keeping both eyes on the road and both hands on the steering wheel, he seemed very distracted.

Clearly, the content creator lived to tell the tale and can at least look at the whole experience with a positive perspective, although it looks like an already scary situation just got much scarier.

The distracted driver and the world’s most dangerous road

When you’re travelling across the world, some experiences stick with you for life, and we’re sure that this experience would certainly be one he remembers forever.

The TikTok travel influencer @abdullahtravels hired a driver to take him down Fairy Mountain Road, deep in Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region, known as the ‘world’s most dangerous road’.

Abdullah decided that, as he was unused to driving the road, with its narrowness and steep drop-off, he was going to put his life in the hands of an expert.

The road is barely wider than a Jeep Wrangler and so requires intense concentration and a bare minimum of two hands on the steering wheel at all times.

However, the driver that Abdullah had hired was, in fact, quite distracted by a call on his phone, which he was gripping to his ear while they sped along the narrow road.

He was fighting for his relationship while they fought for their lives

Abdullah’s driver was actually in the midst of a very heated argument with his girlfriend on the phone, so while Abdullah braced for the most terrifying drive of his life, the heated phone exchange added some stress to the situation.

The TikTok video said ‘POV: your driver is fighting for his relationship while he drives the most dangerous road in the world’ and he pans to the steepest drop we’ve ever seen on the side of the road.

The pair were hurtling along at speed at nearly 10,800 feet, so the fact that Abdullah lived to post the tale on TikTok seemed like quite the miracle.
