Vertu is known as the world’s most expensive phone brand, and its latest Agent Q phone promises to be the world’s first AI agent phone for entrepreneurs.
The brand, which was once a British luxury label under Nokia, promises the ultimate blend of craftsmanship, exclusivity, and concierge-level service.
But is it really worth its hefty $5,380 price tag?
A tech YouTuber took it upon himself to find out, and it turns out that this Vertu phone is just as mysterious as it is high-end.

Vertu is the world’s most expensive phone brand
YouTuber Arun Maini, better known as Mrwhosetheboss, shared his investigative journey in a recent video.
The content creator is very experienced with all sorts of tech, having reviewed the laziest tech ever.
He’s also given his opinion on some of the most luxurious gadgets in existence.
However, the Agent Q phone still managed to baffle him.
When unwrapping the Agent Q, he noted that it came in some of the most extravagant packaging you’ll ever see for a smartphone.

It’s heavy, cold to the touch, and filled with stainless steel parts, which makes the iPhone 17 look plain in comparison.

Vertu clearly designed it to look like something James Bond might whip out mid-mission, complete with screws, exposed metal accents, and a hidden dual-SIM mechanism that pops open with a press.
It oozes luxury…until you actually start using it.
Maini found that for every impressive detail, there’s something off about the phone.
The lock screen animation and luxury-themed wallpapers, featuring brands like Prada and Hermès, look incredible, but then the speakers sound like they belong in a $50 burner phone.
In addition, the software feels half-finished, and the overall user experience, while flashy, doesn’t match its five-figure swagger.
The concierge feature was the weirdest experience ever
Even stranger, the concierge feature, which is the phone’s main selling point, starts to feel more like an AI chatbot than a real human.
At first, Maini thought he was chatting with a polite London-based concierge named Arthur.
Then he realized ‘Arthur’ was probably an AI front for a team operating out of China.

Things got even weirder when Vertu’s concierge actually booked him a hotel room in London for less than the listed price, and paid the property in Chinese yuan.
He was also asked to make the payment via PayPal, which is a little odd.
When he tried it again, he ended up getting upgraded to a much better hotel, while paying a significantly lower price.
So yes, the service worked, but the behind-the-scenes process was sketchy at best.
Vertu also sells other luxury tech, like a $4,300 smartwatch and a nearly $8,000 flip phone, but the Agent Q is the brand’s showpiece.

As Maini put it, Vertu is a ‘fascinating mix of real craftsmanship and bizarre inconsistencies’.
It may be the world’s most expensive phone brand, but its products seem to be a little hit or miss, at least according to Maini’s experience.
The Agent Q might make you feel like a Bond villain, but at $5,380, you’ll want to make sure there aren’t any tricks involved.
