How this man saved $23,000 thanks to a 3D printer
YouTuber B is For Build is the one who came up with the hack.
He had a barely complete Lamborghini Murcielago to work on, that only had parts of a headlight left.
It was this that he used to create headlights with a 3D printer.
Now, it goes without saying but these things are really impressive.
Thanks to this ever growing technology, people have made a house.
And if 3D printers can churn out of a carbon fiber car, a pair of headlights will be a walk in the park.
After scanning the headlights, he began modifying the design to allow for the bulbs.
One night later, he had a prototype printed and ready to go.
Once he measured out the bulbs, he ordered his own replacements.
Unfortunately, his boat sank halfway through meaning that the project had to be shelved.
We’d say ‘these things happen’, but how many people have received a phone call that said ‘hey, your boat is sinking?’
Not many, we’d think.
How did the Lamborghini Murcielago project turn out in the end?
The headlight bezels – the rim that holds the bulbs in place – were printed using resin.
Consideration was also given to a vent for the brake ducts and some modifications for LEDs.
At the point of assembling the parts together, the YouTuber took several hours to smooth out the body filler.
Once the lights were wired into the car, they were shown to the viewer – and you would have never have known they’d basically been made from scratch.
It’s amazing what people can do with the right amount of creativity and perseverance.
