A man has explained what you should do if you’re ever driving and the gas pedal gets stuck, and it could save your life one day.
As a driver, there are few things more terrifying than being behind the wheel and something going wrong.
A social media user recently shared that one of his friends had tragically passed away after getting involved in an accident.
In a clip shared on Instagram, he said that his friend had been driving when the gas pedal became stuck in acceleration.

The man has shared the simple steps you should take if your gas pedal gets stuck
The man said he had been left heartbroken and felt that his friend would still be alive if he had been inside the vehicle at the time.
So, he decided to share some very important advice about exactly what you should do if your gas pedal becomes stuck and you’re trapped inside a runaway vehicle.

“If your accelerator on your car sticks, don’t try and steer,” he said.
“Your engine is running away, your engine is stuck accelerating for some reason. Your transmission is not.
“If you have a runaway car – to save your life – grab your shifter and put it into neutral
“Your transmission will be in neutral, no torque from the engine will go into your transmission, your engine will just go on revving along, doing its own thing, and it will not be driving your wheels.”
At this point, he said, the car will begin to slow, and you can hit the brakes to bring it to a complete stop before shutting off the engine.
“Please do not try to drive out a runaway, accelerating vehicle – you will die,” he added.
He’s been praised for sharing the ‘life saving’ advice
He finished up the clip by saying that he hopes his advice could help to save lives.

“I just wanted to put this out there, and hopefully someone will see this and will learn how to save their life,” he added.
“All it takes is two seconds, grab that shifter and put it in neutral.”
Fellow social media users were quick to praise the man for sharing the ‘life-saving’ advice.
“You just saved so many lives,” one said.
“I’m sure lots of lives will be saved from seeing this,” a second wrote.
