This man bought a bunch of Tesla accessories as well as similar offerings from Temu to see how they compared.

The online marketplace sells just about everything you could think of, from clothing to tech

People have even managed to build fake supercars, including a Bugatti and a Ferrari, using parts from Temu.

But how do they compare to genuine accessories, parts and pieces? YouTuber Everyday Chris wanted to find out.

He spent $1,000 on OEM Tesla accessories and cheaper Temu versions

He spent a $1,000 on real Tesla OEM accessories and Temu versions to see what the quality was like.

And to keep things fair, he donned a blindfold so he wouldn’t know where each item had come from.

First up, he checked out some mats and was almost immediately able to tell which was which just by touching them, noting that the Tesla one felt sturdier.

As you’d probably expect, the Tesla mat was a great fit and came with little feet and velcro pieces to help it stay in place.

However, he went on to say that the Temu mats actually fit even better, and was also impressed by how many mats you got, including for the frunk and trunks.

In terms of price, the OEM mats cost $240, while the Temu larger set was $76.

He also bought frunk dividers, and found the Temu initially felt nicer, but it wasn’t a very good fit compared to the Tesla one.

Neither divider was particularly pricey, with the Tesla one costing $45, and the Temu one priced at $27.

There was a big difference in price between other items

The YouTuber then compared a roof sunshade, noting that the Tesla one, priced at $105, felt a lot more premium, but the cheap $32 Temu version had a silver backing to help dispel heat, and he wasn’t keen on the ‘sagging’ fit of the OEM shade, either.

Next up, he compared a couple of interior organizers: a $50 Tesla model, and a $27 Temu lookalike.

The YouTuber was impressed by the Temu organizers and originally thought they might be the more expensive option.

He also praised how well they fit inside the car, while he thought the OEM option was a little more basic.

He then looked at HEPA and cabin filters, pitching the $54 Temu offering against Tesla’s $90 version.

The Tesla HEPA filters looked more robust and better quality compared to the cheaper ones, but the cheaper kit had both HEPA and cabin filters.

He also tested out a $220 Tesla camping mattress alongside a $110 Temu one.

While the cheaper mattress did come with pillows, the self-inflating Tesla one was more comfortable with a premium feel.

So, which came out on top?

After comparing all the items side by side, it was a bit of a mixed bag.

The YouTuber said the mats, sunshade, and interior organizers were all better value from Temu – offering a solid item at a good price.

However, he preferred the real deal Tesla frunk divider, the camping mattress, and said the filters were better for trust and quality.

Having said that, he did say that the filters and the mattress could still be good options for those on strict budgets.

So, overall it seemed as though – for this YouTuber at least – spending more didn’t always get you more.
