This man attempted to tow his boat using his Tesla Cybertruck but was left feeling less than impressed.
The journey to the lake was made even more difficult due to the range on the vehicle.
The load in tow consisted of a whopping 11,000 pounds.
But, what exactly went down?

All the gear, Tesla’s never short of ideas
The Cybertruck has many uses, as the beasts are famed for their off-road abilities and powerhouse chassis.
But, when it comes to towing, Tesla still has a few things to work on.
For example, it’s competitor the Chevy Silverado stormed ahead when it came to towing this Humvee.
However, the Cybertruck has certainly been put through its paces by many owners – including being flung through the air by one family to test the strength of their pool cover.
Yep, that’s right – a flying Tesla.

Furthermore, this creator tried to use his Tesla to tow a boat.
After testing its towing ability, although it was clear that the car could shift some weight, they discovered that the range left much to be desired.
Tesla itself states on its website that owners can ‘haul everything you need with 2,500 pounds payload and 11,000 pounds towing capacity — the equivalent of an average African elephant’.
So realistically, a boat should not be an issue.
But alas, it was.
Plus, its low-lying cabin was a concern, but the main issues consisted of other practical factors.

Tesla’s loss of power and range caused issues
And when the Tesla truck was actually towing, it lost power quite quickly, which let’s face it, is not what you want really, is it?
The truck’s subsequent downfall included needing multiple charges throughout the trip, meaning added time and inconvenience.
The creator said that he was ‘going from charging station to charging station’ and that means added cost – not ideal.
He even said himself completing the ordeal with a diesel powered engine could have been ‘quicker’ and let’s face it, a whole lot ‘smoother’.
Despite its downfalls, the Cybertruck is still a good vehicle.
But, in terms of practicality, when towing long distances? Maybe it is a no-go.
You can tow, but should you tow?
Well, that’s up to you.
Just beware if you fancy towing an African elephant home anytime soon.
