It’s not very often you get gifted a Porsche 911 Turbo.
But for one lucky man, that’s exactly what happened.
There was a slight catch though, because the sports car had been abandoned for some time.
Thankfully the talented Tavarish was on the case and got the 911 looking as good as new.

Who is Tavarish?
Freddy ‘Tavarish’ Hernandez is a YouTuber known for making videos about buying, modifying, and breaking cars.
So, it’s fair to say Tavarish knows a thing or two about breathing new life into once-neglected vehicles like this Porsche 911 Turbo.
In other Porsche-related news, there’s a new 911 Carrera T and it features a bizarre free sticker.
Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu has given an update after Porsche allegedly took back her 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet.
Tavarish’s Porsche 911 Turbo video
In this video, Tavarish ambitiously rebuilds the abandoned 2001 Porsche 911 Turbo.
The YouTuber said he bought the car from a storage unit three years prior, and at the time, it wasn’t even running.
After initial diagnostics and rebuilding broken turbos, Tavarish’s other projects got in the way, leaving the sports car on a lift for nearly four years.
Undeterred by the car’s condition, Tavarish set out once again to get it running again.
And he aimed to do it all within 24 hours before ultimately giving it away to a deserving recipient.
The process involved removing the existing highly-modified engine and replacing it with a stock engine.
However, Tavarish and his team faced challenges in removing the engine due to rusty components.
They also had to disconnect several parts including the tail lights, rear bumper, exhaust, valves, axles, wiring, hoses and lines, and undertrays.
After removing the engine, the team also faced issues with the transmission, clutch, and turbo hoses.
The old ECU prevented tuning, requiring a workaround, while the existing fuel lines had to be altered to accommodate the stock fuel lines.
Last but not least, the experts from the Rag Company were drafted in to provide a rapid detail, removing years of dirt and grime, before giving the sports car a polish for a showroom-ready finish.
Despite the tight schedule, Tavarish and his team successfully transformed the car, before surprising one of his friends with his dream car.
About the Porsche 911 (996)
The fifth generation of the Porsche 911, also known as the 996, was manufactured by the German automaker from 1997 until 2006.
Although it was replaced by the 997 in 2004, the high performance Turbo S, GT2 and GT3 variants remained in production until 2006.
In 2000, Porsche introduced the 996 Turbo, equipped with a four-wheel-drive system and a 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged and intercooler flat-six engine.
Generating a maximum power output of 414 horsepower, the sports car is capable of acceleration from 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in 4.2 seconds.
