A man who rescued a wooden Lamborghini kit car attempted to take it on a 300-mile journey, but it wasn’t long before things took a turn.
Car enthusiast and YouTuber Vice Grip Garage headed out to East Tennessee to pick up the 1980 ‘Lamborghini Countach’.
Of course, being a kit car made of wood, it wasn’t an actual Lamborghini.
The car started life as a Pontiac Fiero, but its previous owner had spent five years transforming the vehicle into a Lambo-look-alike made of wood and plexiglass.

The DIY wooden Lamborghini Countach had been sitting for years
Who or why the car was made isn’t clear, but Vice Grip Garage explained that the Fiero had been fitted with a V6 taken from a Chevrolet Beretta, and he also revealed that it had spent the last six or seven years off the road.
Despite that, he decided to head out to Tennessee and attempted to drive it 300 miles back home.

Somewhat incredibly, for a car that a) is made of wood, and b) has been off the road for about seven years – the wooden Lamborghini, or Lumberghini as the YouTuber nicknamed it – was still running.
So, he hopped inside and began the 300-mile journey home.
However, while things started well enough, it wasn’t long before they quickly deteriorated, and the journey home became a survival run.
The first sign of trouble was smoke coming from the car, which is never a good thing but becomes a lot more serious when your car happens to be made from wood.
Thankfully, the issue was resolved pretty quickly, but the Lamborghini’s return to the road was short-lived.
The YouTuber also needed to fix a flat tire, as well as battle with repeated coolant hose problems, terrible visibility, and some serious overheating.
So, wood Lambo make it 300 miles?

After bravely soldiering on throughout multiple failures, fixes, and problems, the V6 engine on the poor old Lamfauxghini finally gave up.
Knowing that the car wasn’t in great shape, the YouTuber had been attempting to get it to a friend’s house about 20 miles away.
But before he managed it, the engine locked completely, and the YouTuber had to leave the car at the side of the road.
“Well, the Woodghini is officially dead,” he said.
“The motor’s locked [and I] can’t do much about that.”
