The Tesla wall connector is the subject of a huge ongoing debate within the EV world.
The American EV giant has long-hailed its wall connector as the world’s best home charger.
To test that claim, a YouTube channel decided to put it to the test to see how much it cost.
Except he is using his wall connector to charge a rival EV.

YouTube channel pits uses EV rivals to test charge
The YouTube channel EVsUndone recently performed an exciting test.
For the video, the channel decided to do a charging test.
The YouTubers decided to pit the world’s two biggest EV manufacturers against one another.
The man, who owns a Chinese BYD ATTO 3 electric car, decides to charge it using Tesla’s wall connector.

The BYD all-electric car is sitting at 35 percent range at the beginning of the video.
Tesla claims that their chargers can add up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes.
So this is actually a very interesting test with real world implications.
Tesla wall connector charges BYD very well
As it turns out, the Tesla wall connector is very compatible with its Chinese EV rival.
The charger appears to perform very efficiently and charges up the BYD relatively quickly.
The presenter then heads to his wall connector to examine the numbers.
According to the readings, the wall connector has used 43.9kw/h of electricity.

The presenter multiplies the 43.9 by the 20 cent per kw/h cost, and that comes to…
$8.78 to complete the charge of the BYD using the Tesla charging infrastructure.
It is relatively cheap, and the charger’s compatibility with the BYD is impressive.
It is also reassuring for EV owners who might consider switching to EV cars in the future, too.
Huge credit to EVsUndone for the informative video and for providing valuable insight.
