YouTuber Marques Brownlee has tested the Samsung TriFold phone to see if it’s worth the price of Apple’s core lineup combined.

The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is one of the craziest looking phones on the market, as it is a multi-folding smartphone that you can unfold multiple times.

Unlike most other folding phones, it opens up twice to give you a 10-inch screen, but the phone is expensive.

Plus, it is available only via Samsung and not through any carriers, so the question is, is it worth the money?

Why is the TriFold so expensive?

There is a lot of technology packed into this bizarre-looking phone.

The phone unfolds twice in a U shape to create the large 10-inch screen.

The phone features ample RAM and storage, along with a triple camera setup.

Thanks to the triple screen, it is a hefty thing to hold and thicker than many of our phones.

If you want to buy one in the United States, the official starting price is $2,899.

That is a huge amount of money, no matter what kind of phone you have.

According to fellow content creator Andrew Clare, you could buy several Apple products and still have money left over.

If you bought the M4 MacBook Air, iPhone 17, AirPods Pro 3 & and an iPad mini, you’d have $100 left.

Is the Samsung TriFold worth the money?

The biggest question is whether this phone is worth the money.

According to Brownlee, the specs are solid, but they aren’t out of this world.

The folding phone does some things better than a regular phone, such as a wider screen for watching videos.

Games are also full-screen on the phone, and the larger display does give even more functionality.

Brownlee said the phone felt really well considered, so it is as convenient to use as possible.

They did raise some downsides to the phone.

Brownlee said that the middle screen is quite fragile, for example, and there are issues with its size.

Brownlee did say: “For the right person, who knows what they are getting into, this might be worth it.”

He also said it would be a ‘nice phone to use daily’ due to the huge 10-inch screen.

But he did also acknowledge that the price for it is ‘high’.

So it comes down to whether you can afford it, and if the TriFold is up your street.
