US woman who traded in her Mercedes GLB 250 for a Mazda CX-5 explains why she has no regrets over 'no brainer' switch

For this American woman, switching from a Mercedes GLB 250 to a Mazda CX-5 was a ‘no brainer’.

When Page Manry first purchased her Mercedes GLB, she was extremely happy with it.

But as time went on, problems began to mount up and the car proved to be too pricey.

And that’s when she decided to switch over.

Things got too expensive for this Mercedes GLB 250 owner

For the first part of her ownership, Manry had her Mercedes under a service warranty, which worked out great for her money wise.

But here’s the catch – it would only last for three years or 30,000 miles, whichever came first.

Considering she’d put 55,000 miles on the car within two years, you don’t have to be a genius to figure out how short-lived this was.

“After that, I was having to pay for the services,” Manry explained.

“I kid you not, I was paying between $400 and $800 to get my car serviced, and I’m talking oil change, tire rotation, the basic stuff.

“In maintenance alone, I was spending a couple thousand a year.”

And that wasn’t the only expensive – she was paying up to $2,000 for a set of tires.

And to top it all off, the car was starting to show signs of wear and tear.

We’re talking a cracked windscreen and damage to the rim.

“The more miles you put on…luxury vehicles like Mercedes, Audi, BMW.

“Whatever it may be, you’re losing value the closer you get to 100,000 miles or even 80,000 miles.”

This left her with no choice but to switch out her car.

She had ‘zero regrets’ about buying a Mazda CX-5

The Mazda was something of a dark horse and only came to her attention when her cousin recommended the brand to her.

“One of my cousins actually had [a] Mazda so I talked to her about it,” Manry explained.

“She loves them, swears by them. So I went and looked and actually ended up falling in love with the car I have now.”

How were her costs looking now?

Significantly lower – she was only paying $100 for an oil change now, which already nets her savings of several hundreds.

“It’s the first car that I felt that same luxury feeling that I had with my Mercedes. No regrets,” she said.

Not every driver is so lucky – drivers remorse can be a hard pill to swallow

Not everyone who gets a new car is so fortunate to be content with their choice.

For one man, purchasing a Pontiac GTO from eBay soon left him scrambling to sell it off.

It was a similar story for the man who bought a fake Porsche 911.

As the saying goes, you win some, you lose some.
