This Mercedes saleswoman has shared why young drivers shouldn’t buy used luxury cars, and it’s simpler than you think.
For drivers wanting a more premium car experience, an impressive car that has been used or pre-owned is usually top of their list, but it turns out that it could do more harm than good.
You see, used flashier cars often carry high maintenance costs and no warranty, along with interest rates.
But don’t fear, as the car saleswoman shared some useful advice.

Mercedes saleswoman reveals all about buying used luxury cars
Buying a car is an expensive activity, but it turns out that younger people could be making things more difficult than they need to be.
Some people are fans of luxury cars, but with a fancy ride comes an eye-watering set of costs, with maintenance bills often amassing hundreds of dollars.
TikTok content creator staceyabneyallen revealed that young people just shouldn’t be buying older, luxury vehicles.
“One of the hardest things for me to do as a salesperson is to sit back when I’m selling a car to somebody that could easily be my niece or nephew,” she said.

She went on to explain that sometimes drivers find ‘cheap’ cars that cost around $25,000 that are luxury models, and they look well taken care of.
However, this is only because the owner could afford to maintain them properly.
She went on to explain that if she asks serious questions about the car, it is her way of explaining that you made a mistake.
The creator also detailed that the deals that attract buyers tend to be around the $20,000 mark, but have high interest levels of around 20% and no warranty, thanks to credit, which, let’s face it, isn’t good.
She also explained that she can’t say anything ‘if you have no clue on what it costs to fix something if it breaks’.
So, people should be asking themselves questions and putting in research before they splash out on a vehicle.
Luxury cars are a dream snap-up for many
When purchasing cars, there are budget options available; however, some drivers want more than a standard sedan.
Many brands offer luxurious rides with high-tech features, but with that comes a luxury price tag, like the Lotus Espirit V8 which made a comeback with a carbon-fiber body.
Another luxurious option consists of the Aston Martin Valhalla hypercar, with the $1M price tag evident after it was unveiled on a $200M yacht in Monaco.
But, after people saw the Mercedes worker’s advice on owning an impressive vehicle, some couldn’t help but agree with her luxury car advice.
“Luxury car = Luxury maintenance,” said one driver.
“She is so right. you have to be prepared for upkeep with luxury cars. I will never forget my E350 requiring a service B AND an auxiliary battery to the tune or $1,200. the battery had gone bad only after two months of purchase,” added another user.
“Love the honesty you give. Like they say, there’s no such thing as a cheap luxury car,” added a third.
