We bet you probably didn’t know that the Miami Police Department was racing around in a sweet Porsche 911 back in the day.
The vehicles were used to fight crime in the Sunshine State.
But, there’s actually an interesting reason behind the usage of them.
911 emergency?

Police cars fighting crime come in all shapes and sizes.
From huge 4×4 vehicles to small sports cars, forces around the world have utilised different cars for their individual needs.
For example, A $3.8M fleet of exotic supercars that were actually seized from a biker gang are now used as Turkish police cars – clever, right?
Plus, the Dubai Police has also got in on the action after luxury brand Mansory unveiled a new one-of-one Rolls-Royce Cullinan, collaborating with the enforcers for a second time.
One police force in the US beat them both to the opportunity in the 90s, though.

The Miami Police Department was reportedly whipping around the streets and fighting crimes in Porsche 911s before the 21st century.
The force allegedly repurposed the vehicles after they were seized during criminal operations.
After the cars were taken from the criminals, the cool sports cars were used by cops due to apparent budget limitations – although there might have been other reasons, we simply don’t know.
Just imagine witnessing a police chase with one of those bad boys involved – that would be an interesting experience, for sure.
This wasn’t the only utilization of the vehicle, though.
It was apparently used as a symbol for turning the criminals’ prized goods back in their faces.
Using their own ill-gotten gains against them to fight the good fight.
There’s something poetic about it.
Take a look at the post below.
It isn’t the first time that the police force has used flashy vehicles with the intention to bust criminals in the act.
One force recently used a Rolls-Royce Ghost as a cop car, and as expected, it got lots of attention. The car was intended to be an incentive to encourage people to join.
Who knew that the cops used such fancy cars for their officers to cruise around in?
