This Missouri man wanted to see which USB-C chargers fared the best, so he tested some out, with one coming out on top.

YouTuber Project Farm wanted to see if there would be a difference between cheaper and more expensive chargers.

He tested them out on a range of factors, including power outlet, heat/fire-risk, and whether they stayed in wall outlets.

There were a lot of chargers to test, but which ones would prove to be superior?

Which USB-C chargers ran the hottest when this YouTuber compared them?

To truly get a feel for which charger was best, Project Farm compared the chargers in different categories.

First up were the sub-50W chargers, which came from Alonus, Feel Too Nice, Anker 20W, Anker Nano 47W, and Samsung 50W.

Anker 20W came out on top in this round, as it stayed relatively cool at 121.8°F, while others underperformed and ran hot at temperatures ranging from 149°F to 171°F.

In the 65-99W range, which included Amlink, Anker 65W, Tech Neck, Belulin/Belcon 67W, Election 65W with a retractable cable, UGREEN 65W, and Anker Prime 67W.

This time around, it was the UGREEN 65W that fared the best with a temperature of 144.1°F, while the Tech Neck 65W clocked in at 167.8°F as the hottest.

And how about the USB-C chargers that come in at 100W and more?

On that round, there’s the Bovikus 100W, Top Padre 140W, Minix 165W, Anker 747 150W, Anker 200W, and UGrain 160W.

The UGrain 160W was the hottest of all the chargers at 194°F, whilst the Anker 200W was the coolest of the 100W chargers at 108.5°F.

Which charger comes out on top overall?

When taking energy-at-outlet and energy-at-charger efficiency into account, the Anker 20W came out best in the under 65W category at 91.7 percent.

In the 65-99W range, the Anker Prime was the top performer at 92.6 percent.

Up in the upper echelons, the Minix clocked in at 93.3 percent.

And finally, wall-outlet grip was taken into consideration, where the Anker 20W, the UGREEN 65W, and the Anker 150W.

So overall, the Anker 20W was considered the best value among the under-65W chargers.

In the 65-99W camp, it was the UGREEN 65W, and the Top Padre in the 100W+ category.

That’s a lot to take in, but hopefully this provides some clarity on which chargers are the best bet.

It’s certainly one of the more orthodox charger experiments we’ve seen.

After all, we’ve seen a man plug 100 chargers into an iPhone at once to see if it would give his phone an instant charge.

Given how much we use our phones, it’s only natural that we’d want to stay on top of charging – as this hack demonstrated.
