This man spent two years chasing a pair of classic Porsche 912 examples from the 1960s sitting in a Missouri garage for several decades and finally got his hands on them.
Car enthusiasts often go to extreme lengths to collect cars they love, but this case stood out.
That’s because the person who collected these has been rescuing cars for well over 30 years now.
The Porsche pair weren’t in great condition, but that wasn’t enough to stop him.

Man finds classic Porsche 912 duo in Missouri after a long wait
Meet Dennis Collins, an avid car collector and ‘barn find enthusiast’ who finally found the Porsches he wanted in St. Louis, Missouri.
He had been talking to the previous owner for two years until he finally got to see them in person — which he showed in a YouTube video from 2020.
At least Collins found the cars, unlike this dad who chased down a Lamborghini only to find out it was sold.
Plus, he didn’t have to wait three decades like this man who chased a Pontiac Grand Prix.
The Italian classics in question here were a 1966 Porsche 912 and a 1969 Porsche 912 LWB (long wheelbase).
The YouTuber first inspected the ’66 model, and it wasn’t looking hopeful.
Its interior was in pretty bad shape, and the floor lining had a massive hole on the driver’s side.
Moreover, this ’66 912 only spent 10 years on the road and hadn’t been registered since 1976.
Both cars could use ‘some’ work
Meanwhile, the 1969 912’s situation was ever-so-slightly better.
Its red interior was in relatively better condition and wasn’t too far gone.
Both Porsche 912s needed some extensive work to even resemble a car in good condition, but Collins was just happy he got them.
He obviously wanted to restore them to their former glory, and also good some goodies to make it easier.
The package included two 912 engines, a single 911 engine, and some spare wheels.
You might only find 912s in barn find conditions, and we even saw one recently in a secret garden.
It was a fan-favorite during its time, but since the 911 is rarer these days, it’s a more lucrative find.
That, however, doesn’t mean the Porsche 912 wasn’t capable — and enthusiasts like Collins know it.
