Reggie Jackson: A star is born

When it comes to baseball, the story of the game runs straight through Reggie Jackson.

The Pennsylvania native enjoyed a 21-year career in the Major Leagues.

His trademark moustache and glasses became iconic symbols of the game during the 1970s.

Jackson started his MLB career with the Oakland Athletics, making his Major League debut on June 9th, 1967.

The legend would go on to win three straight World Series titles with the A’s.

He would also win his first American League (AL) MVP award in 1973.

Jackson would make the move to the East Coast to join the New York Yankees in 1977.

Mr October: Jackson secures postseason legend

In Reggie Jackson’s first MLB season in New York, he earned the nickname that would follow him forever: Mr October.

In Game 6 of the 1977 World Series, the New York Yankees faced off against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jackson hit three home runs in that game to win the Yankees their first World Series since 1962.

Jackson became the first player to win the World Series MVP award for two different teams.

He would then eventually return to the Oakland Athletics, playing his final season in 1987.

The legend retired after 21 seasons as one of the greatest players to ever step onto the diamond.

Car collection befitting a legend

Aside from all of his trophies and hardware, Jackson has an epic car collection to match.

Like most of us, Jackson’s passion for cars started when he was a child.

Growing up, he would identify the make and model of cars driving up and down his street.

As a teenager, his father, Martinez, taught him the importance of cars, as well as how to repair vehicles.

Jackson’s first car was a used 1951 Chevrolet, which he bought from his brother for $5.

The MLB icon used to own over 100 cars. Sadly, a warehouse fire in 1988 caused around $3.2 million worth of damage to his collection.

However, most of Jackson’s classic cars continue to thrive.

The baseball legend has a taste for American muscle cars, Chevrolet in particular, all of which are extremely valuable.

Among them is the iconic 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, with the all-aluminum 427 block engine.

Other highlights of the collection included one of the most iconic cars of the 1950’s.

Of course, it would have to be the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air.

He also owns a couple of stunning examples of the Chevrolet Chevelle SS.

Jackson’s car collection, even excluding the cars he lost in 1988, is valued at around $8 million.

With a nickname like Mr October, we’re not surprised that Reggie Jackson has such an epic car collection to match the moniker.
