Fixing front control arms on this Model S costs serious cash
When it comes to owning an EV, there are already a few expenses to think about, like charging costs and maintenance checks.
But, when things go wrong, it can be an extra expensive bill that leaves owners’ bank accounts dry.
One owner took to Reddit to explain that the front control arms on their Tesla Model S needed repairing.

So, to make things easier, they decided to take their vehicle to a mechanic who was certified by the EV brand. But they were simply stunned when the time came to face the price of the fix.
“My adaptive ride control warning light has been coming on a lot. Took my 2021 Model S to local ‘Tesla-certified mechanic’ shop to assess,” explained user slouchncouchin.

And, after sharing a screenshot, it seems that the cost was rather unexpected.
To replace the left and right front control arms, the cost was a whopping $2,410.41.

“Seems crazy pricey?” he questioned after sharing the information online.
Other gearheads were shocked at the price of the Model S quote
Tesla owners know that owning the vehicles does not come cheap, and some offered advice on how to make the repair more cost-effective.
“Are you out of warranty? Regardless, control arms are about 1k to change, and any mechanic can do it. It’s not a Tesla-specific part,” commented one user.
“Just go straight to Tesla and compare prices,” said another EV enthusiast.
Other owners are also known to test the EV’s true capabilities in different ways, too.
For example, a Plaid was put up against a Corvette Z06 in a Canadian quarter-mile race.
Plus, a Tesla Model S Plaid also took on a dark Dodge Challenger in Las Vegas to see which car would come out on top.
