Space enthusiasts, mark your calendars – NASA’s manned moon mission could happen as soon as February 6.

It was in 1972 that NASA last sent astronauts to our only natural satellite, so it’s been long overdue for a revisit.

The Artemis II will follow in the footsteps of the Artemis I, which launched in 2022 and orbited the moon.

If you wanted to watch this incredible mission for yourself, here’s where you can watch it unfold.

Here’s what you need to know about NASA’s manned moon mission

Artemis II will be manned by four astronauts – commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover, mission specialist Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen.

As you might expect, they’ve undergone rigorous training to prepare for their mission, including simulation training in the Orion spacecraft itself.

But before you get yourself ready for another ‘One small step for man…’ moment, hold your horses…or your space shuttles, as it were.

This may be a manned moon mission, but the crew of Artemis II will not be touching down on the moon during their mission.

The plan is for the crew to travel 685,000 miles from Earth, circle the moon, and then return home to Earth.

They’ll take off from Launch Complex 39B at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida sometime in early February.

Back in September, NASA officials announced they were pursuing a launch window that would open on February 5, 2026.

But the 6th is looking like the best bet, according to a recent report from Space News.

At any rate, if you want to watch NASA’s manned moon mission for yourself, you’ll find it being livestreamed across all NASA social media channels, NASA TV, and its subsidiary channels.

Are we living in a new space age?

There’s no denying that there’s definitely been an uptick in space interest these past few years.

SpaceX has been constantly in the headlines, with its ambitions to reach Mars second to none – especially with the recent unveiling of this 400ft rocket.

And what would a round-up of space news stories be without a nod to Katy Perry?

You may recall that she headed to space as part of the first all-women crew to head up into space in 60 years.

The pop star, who was taking astronaut lessons right up until the last minute, made headlines around the world with the stunt.

It achieved the desired results of drumming up a whole lot of publicity, which should please Jeff Bezos, as it cost him $3 million to pull off.
