Honda is revamping its look, ready for a new electric era, and now one of the first elements to be announced is the Honda H mark.

The company has revealed the new symbol that will be displayed on the hood from 2027, and the symbol is one of the most eye-catching we’ve seen.

The H mark has been used as a car badge for over six decades, representing a key element of the company’s history.

This overhaul is part of an exciting ‘second founding’, with the H soon to be used on more than the hood of your new EV.

The history of the Honda H mark

Like many car brands, Honda has a super-rich history, dating all the way back to the 1940s.

From SUVs to sedans, motorcycles, and now EVs, there isn’t much that the company hasn’t produced.

Honda even launched a rocket into space and literally defied gravity.

The manufacturer was founded in Tokyo, Japan, with the ‘trapezoidal H’ standing for the founder, Soichiro Honda’s last name.

Years later, the H mark was introduced on the front of the cars in 1963, and over the decades, it has been an active symbol, changing a considerable amount.

There is a hidden secret within the logo, though.

Whilst it may look simple, one Honda dealership revealed that the logo comes in just three colors – red, silver, and black.

The latest change is set to revolutionize the appearance of the H with a brand new design and energy.

It could even be the best yet.

The new H signifies a new beginning

Announced this week, the new Honda H mark signifies the new next-generation EVs, and will take place from 2027.

The H mark will take center stage on EVs and major hybrid-electric HEV models.

The new badge is also set to be used in other areas of the company’s business, such as communication initiatives, motorsport activities, and even dealership locations, according to a press release.

The company itself explained that the H mark will represent its ‘second founding’, which falls in line with the ongoing integration of artificial intelligence and electrification of the industry.

It was also described as two outstretched hands and also represents the commitment to adapting to customers’ needs and to ‘augment the possibilities of mobility’.

There is still a year until this comes into play, though, so as time goes on, the anticipation rises.
