These New Jersey brothers rescued a baby NASCAR, and now it drinks gas and wins races.

The Barn Brothers picked it up for $800 and worked to get it back on the road.

Somewhere between a go-kart and a race car, this pint-sized Mini Cup racer can reportedly reach speeds of 50 to 100mph.

But the question remained – would it run again?

We don’t know what it is, but there’s something charming about a small car.

And we’re not talking about two-seater type cars.

We mean adorably small cars, like the Peel 150, the world’s smallest car.

There’s also the Microlinous, which is exactly what it says on the tin.

And who could forget the comically tiny 1958 BMW Isetta?

It’s like the old saying goes: ‘It’s not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog’.

Case in point, the Mini Cup race car that the Barn Brothers secured for $800.

It was a tiny thing, it practically looked like it was a kid’s toy.

To get into the vehicle, a grown adult would need to climb through the roof.

And even when inside, it was a snug fit.

There were several issues that needed addressing on the baby NASCAR, namely a non-functional engine.

Which, as far as mechanical problems go, is kind of a biggie, especially for a NASCAR vehicle.

But the team endeavored to get it fighting fit again.

Would things work out on a test drive?

It certainly made a lot of noise, and it put in some good speed while driving around the neighborhood.

“I can’t believe this thing hasn’t broken yet,” one of the brothers admitted.

“It’s absolutely cruising!

“I don’t know why everybody doesn’t have a Mini Cup car!”

By the video’s end, it reached a top speed of 51.4mph.

Okay, it’s not exactly batting with the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3, which was the fastest manual at Nürburgring.

But for such a small car, and one that had been recently fixed at that, this was an impressive speed.

And we can imagine it’ll only get faster from this point on.
