The brand-new Tesla Model Y Performance is bringing some cool new upgrades as it goes on sale.
America’s premier EV brand officially released the new Model Y Performance yesterday in the US.
Its release came just hours before the US federal tax credit for EVs officially ended.
This time, the new Tesla Model Y Performance is coming with some very notable upgrades – both inside and out.

New Tesla Model Y Performance lands in the US
Fans of Tesla across the US will be delighted to see that a brand-new release has just happened.
And that is because the new Tesla Model Y Performance has officially landed on American soil.
Its debut comes just one month after making its bow in the European market.
The overall timing of the release is equally as interesting – albeit for a slightly different reason.
That is because the timing of the release comes just hours before the end of the US federal tax credit for EVs.
The tax credit, of course, provided $7,500 towards the purchase of an EV in the US market.

At this point, you’re probably asking the most obvious question there is to ask:
‘How much does this refreshed package cost?’
Good question – it costs $59,130, including the destination fee and mandatory order fee.
This makes the new Tesla Model Y Performance $8,500 more expensive than the Model Y Long Range All-Wheel Drive.
It also makes the new, refreshed package $2,500 more than the current Model 3 Performance.
Cool upgrades come with the refresh
So, what exactly are buyers getting for their increased money?
Well, there’s an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 306 miles on a full charge.
Owners can also expect a top speed of 155mph, as well as a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds.
The top speed is unchanged compared to the previous model, but the range and 0-60 times are both increased.
There is also an exterior body kit that includes new front and rear facias.
This comes with a carbon spoiler at the rear that increases downforce and reduces drag.
But what about the upgrades and the improvements on the inside?
Well, there are definitely some cool upgrades to be talked about there, too.
Inside, the 2026 Model Y Performance gets a slightly larger 16-inch central touchscreen.

There is also an eight-inch touchscreen for the passengers in the rear.
The rear passengers get perforated seats with heating and power recline.
In the front, the driver and passenger also get perforated seats with power recline and heating.
At the time of writing, the new Tesla Model Y Performance is, of course, now available in the US.
But if you’re interested in buying it straight away, it can only be bought with cash.
The Lease and Finance options currently do not show up on the Tesla website.
It is likely, of course, that these options will come with time.
But if you want to jump on it straight away, then cash appears to be king for the EV marque.
