The incredibly popular and powerful R35 GT-R has reached the end of its life in Europe as Nissan decides to end the sale of the car in the region.
The manufacturer’s hand was forced by more stringent regulations on noise.
“Thirteen years after its European introduction as the icon of accessible automotive high performance, we can confirm that European GT-R production will end in March, 2022 due to the new EU & UK drive-by noise regulations starting 1st of July 2021 (No. 540.2014),” a statement from Nissan said.
Across Europe, noise limits have been reduced over time from 82 decibels in 1978 to what it is now at 72 decibels, according to the UK government’s Vehicle Certification Agency.

The current generation of Nissan GT-R will never be forgotten thanks to its rapid acceleration times and reliability among tuners.
The 2022 edition is powered by a 3.8-litre V6 engine that produces 565hp.
It has a top speed of 315kmh (196 mph) and can reach 0-100kmh in 2.9 seconds.
This Japanese pocket rocket will be sorely missed, but perhaps makes way for an all-electric variant in the near future?
