After seeing this video of a Pagani firing up, no one can believe that it’s not an airplane, with the sheer noise and power.

If you thought turning the key in your car was exciting, think again, because starting a Pagani is closer to prepping a fighter jet for takeoff.

Commenters can’t get over how similar this is to an airplane cockpit, because the ritual of pushing buttons and flicking switches is like a pilot getting ready for takeoff.

The roar of the V12 firing up feels like starting an engine and getting ready to blast off into the air like a fighter jet.

We can’t believe it’s not an airplane

Pagani has always blurred the line between art and engineering, but when it comes to firing up the supercar, it’s straight-up drama.

The ignition process is deliberately theatrical with a beautifully detailed key, toggle-style switches on the center console, and the kind of sound that makes you double-check you’re not at an airport.

The insane sound comes courtesy of Pagani’s V12 engines, which have been edited to deliver some of the most intense exhaust sounds in the world.

Inside, the drama is heightened by the design because Pagani interiors are filled with exposed gear-style dials, aircraft-style switches, and carbon-fiber details that make the cockpit feel more like a private jet than a supercar.

How to start your own Pagani

For owners, starting a Pagani is never routine; it’s a ritual. Every detail, from inserting the fanciest key you’ve ever seen to flicking the switches in sequence, is designed to build anticipation.

We half expect to hear the driver radio in to Ground Control to get clearance to take off.

Compare that to the push-start button in most modern cars, like the Bugatti it’s being compared to in the video, and it’s obvious why Pagani stands in a league of its own.

When you see and hear a hypercar like this being started, you quickly realize these aren’t just cars, they’re a whole theatre production on wheels – or a fighter jet.
