Noel Gallagher got a six-month driving ban despite not having a driver’s license.

The Oasis star never sat and passed his driving test.

Instead, in true rock and roll style, he opted to be chauffeur-driven.

However, despite never learning to drive back in 2023 he was given a six-month driving ban.

Why Noel Gallagher got a six-month driving ban

At the height of Oasis’s fame back in the 1990s, he set himself a target of learning to drive within a couple of years after ordering himself a converted Jaguar MKII Convertible that would take a couple of years to be delivered.

However, things didn’t quite pan out like that, and he still doesn’t have his license to this day.

To get around, he’s chauffeur-driven in a high-end Range Rover.

Nonetheless, back in 2023, Noel Gallagher got a six-month driving ban following a series of unpaid speeding tickets.

According to the Standard, Gallagher’s driver admitted that he had been behind the wheel at the time, but as Gallagher was the registered owner, it was he who was prosecuted.

Ouch.

He was initially given six penalty points and told to pay a fine plus court fees amounting to around $1,500.

But it didn’t end there, and just a couple of months on, the Range Rover had clocked up two more speeding tickets that hadn’t been properly dealt with.

So, Gallagher was given another 12 penalty points, resulting in a six-month driving ban, despite never actually being the driver.

He was also ordered to pay almost $2,000 in fines and fees.

In a statement, Gallagher said he hadn’t been aware of the speeding tickets.

“I did not personally receive the notice or the reminder, and neither were brought to my attention by my staff”, he said.

“I have a team of people who assist me with the management of my personal and business matters, which includes correspondence that is sent to my home address.

“I acknowledge that it is my responsibility as the registered keeper of a motor vehicle to ensure that suitable and effective arrangements are in place to safeguard against important correspondence not being dealt with as required.”

The star said his one-of-a-kind Jaguar was his ‘most expensive mistake’

While being hit with a six-month ban without even having a driving license is surely one of Gallagher’s silliest mistakes, his ‘most expensive mistake’ was buying a custom 1967 Jaguar MKII

During a 2019 interview, he revealed that he forked out $110,000 to a company that takes vintage car chassis and rebuilds them with modern engines.

The car took around two years to build and was an absolute beauty of a vehicle.

However, given the fact he can’t drive it ended up sitting in his garage, until fairly recently, when it went to a new owner.
