One of the oddest aviation discoveries involves a Boeing 737 sitting in a random field in Bali, and no one seems to know how the plane got there.
You expect planes at airports, not chilling in a quarry like they took a wrong turn.
But this one’s been sitting there for years, confusing everyone who stumbles across it.
And somehow, it’s not even the only one.

There’s a Boeing 737 sitting in a random Bali field
The plane is parked in a limestone quarry near the Raya Nusa Dua Selatan Highway in Bali, which already sounds like the wrong place for a commercial jet.
There’s no official explanation for how it got there, which is what makes the whole thing feel so weird.
Moving something that big isn’t exactly subtle, so the idea that it just ‘ended up’ there doesn’t really add up.
The most popular theory is that a wealthy businessman bought the plane and wanted to turn it into a restaurant.

It actually sounds pretty cool in theory, but according to locals, the project ran out of money before anything could open.
That would explain why the plane looks like it was parked and then completely forgotten.
The problem is, no one has ever confirmed that story, so it’s basically just a rumor that refuses to go away.
On top of that, no one really knows where the plane came from, what condition it’s in, or if it could ever fly again.
Right now, it’s just sitting there behind a fence on private land.
You can still see it if you know where to look.
People usually climb nearby containers or head up a small path for a better view, but you’ll probably have to pay a small fee to get close enough.
Unbelievably, it’s not the only one
As if one random plane wasn’t enough, Bali actually has another Boeing 737 sitting around doing absolutely nothing.
This second one is parked near a Dunkin’ Donuts and has reportedly been there since around 2007.
And yes, it comes with the exact same rumor that it was meant to become a restaurant before plans fell apart.
The difference is that this one briefly had a second life.

It was used as an events venue in 2018, which is about as close as it got to having a purpose.
So while the first plane is still a total mystery, the second one proves this isn’t just a one-off.
For some reason, Bali has managed to collect two full-sized passenger jets and leave them nowhere near a runway, which honestly raises more questions than it answers.
