This Ontario father and son have a heartwarming bond over their classic 1969 Pontiac GTOs.

YouTube channel Subdivision Auto sat down with Sean and his dad, Ivon.

The father-son duo are the proud owners of two rare 1969 Pontiac GTO Judges – Ivon having bought his all the way back in 1969.

Five decades later, his son bought one of his own to carry on the tradition.

This father and son have a very special common interest – their classic 1969 Pontiac GTOs

To hear that somebody is still driving a car they bought back in 1969 is really special.

Classic cars deserve to be treasured.

And the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge is certainly no exception – with a 3-speed manual and the iconic ‘carousel red’ paint job tying it all together.

Only 6,822 Judges were produced in 1969, of which only 108 were convertibles.

For Ivon, his time with the Judge started when he ordered way back in April 1969, receiving it on his birthday the following month.

This was also the day that his first son was born, tying the car in with a lot of sentimental memories.

It was sentimentality that encouraged his son, Sean, to follow suit decades later.

“It was the car I idolized growing up,” Sean told Subdivision Auto.

“And to be able to cruise with my father whilst he’s still around [is special].”

That sounds like as good a reason as any for buying a car.

And when it looks this good, it’s the cherry on top, frankly.

Cars can often carry a lot of sentimental value with them

For many people, cars are a family affair.

They carry a lot of memories and mean a whole lot.

For one North Carolina father and son, they had a Chevy Camaro parked in their basement that turned out to be incredibly valuable.

In another story, a family bought their grandpa to tears of joy when they fixed up his 1956 MG sports car.

And who could forget the time these twins bought a 1-in-50 car for their great-grandfather?
