Ouka the paragliding dog

Meet Ouka, the rescue dog who lives in a van and goes paragliding with his owner.

Despite being just three years old, Ouka had already been abandoned by two different families before he was adopted by Shams.

Now, he spends his days adventuring with his dad, and even taking to the skies.

When Shams first adopted the samoyed, he said he wasn’t sure how he would take to van life.

It didn’t take long for Shams to realize Ouka was in his element.

“It’s the best life for a dog because it’s a small home but it’s a big garden,” he told supercarblondie.com

“He was super excited about everything.”

Once Ouka was settled in his new life on the road, Shams decided to introduce him to his passion, paragliding.

“I went step by step to check if Ouka was able to fly,” he said.

“First, I noticed that he was not really afraid of heights, then we stayed on the paragliding takeoff and every day he was watching the paragliders taking off.

“He got cuddles from all the pilots, and he understood that this is not something to be afraid of.”

Step by step, Shams inched his rescue dog closer to the edge.

Finally, Shams decided Ouka was ready for the challenge and set off to find a special harness for dogs.

“The first time he tried, he was just standing, super chill,” he said.

Shams said it wasn’t long before Ouka was running between his legs ready to hop into the harness.

And just like that, Ouka took to paragliding like a duck to water.

Shams said adopting his paragliding dog was the best thing that ever happened to him.

“I think we’ve created a very very solid bond together,” he said.

“I think he can trust me for anything.

“And I think Ouka needed me as much as I needed him.”
