The Pagani Zonda is one of the craziest supercars ever built.

First released in 1999, Pagani’s former flagship is still much beloved and respected.

As it turns out, Horacio Pagani’s creations have started serving in a different role.

Because of their rarity, they are now becoming valuable assets for the rich and wealthy.

Back at the end of the 20th century, Horacio Pagani had a goal.

After previously seeing his carbon fiber-laden, hypercar vision rejected by Lamborghini, he struck out on his own.

Pagani Automobili was established in 1992 – making its home in Modena, Italy.

When it was first established, many laughed and scoffed at the Argentine’s vision.

Nobody ever imagined that the Italian duo of Lamborghini and Ferrari could ever be taken on.

They certainly never thought that a small, independent brand could be the one to do it.

And yet, Horacio Pagani prevailed – as did his Mercedes-AMG-powered V12, carbon fiber-laden vision.

Upon initial release in 1999, the Zonda C12 immediately wowed the car industry.

The performance, as well as the incredible noise of the engine, quickly made Zonda a household name.

And the next 25 years have seen Horacio’s company go from strength to strength.

A key philosophy that set it apart from the others was its focus on uniqueness.

No two Zondas or Huayras have ever been the same – something appreciated by the marque’s customers.

Pagani cars are also extremely rare, because the models are produced in very limited numbers.

In fact, it is estimated that the Italian marque has only ever made around 140 cars. In total.

This makes availability extraordinarily rare; in fact, they’re like gold dust.

And it’s this rarity that has directly fed an enormous spike in value.

For example, last year, a Zonda 760 LM Roadster sold for $11 million, more than 600% of its original value.

A massively unintended consequence of the brand’s philosophy is that the cars are now investments.

And they are surprisingly secure investments, too – because they are rooted in rarity.

So, if you have an ungodly amount of money and are looking to invest – just buy a Pagani.
