You know things are getting out of hand in the real estate market in London when you find a parking spot that costs the same as a sports car.
Advertised with a Ford Mustang parked in it – for whatever reason – this parking spot in London goes for £50,000, equivalent to around $66,000.
It’s so narrow you can’t even get out of the car.
We’re going to go ahead and assume the Mustang is not included in the sale.

London is getting expensive
The truth is, $66,000 isn’t a huge sum in London these days.
According to Rightmove, the company that also listed the parking spot you see here, the average price for a flat in London last year was £706,000 – or $931,000.
Still, $66,000 for a parking spot that’s barely wide enough to fit an actual car is still a little bit ridiculous.
Not to mention the fact that there is literally no room to get out of the car.
This isn’t hyperbole, as you can see from the pictures.
The Mustang isn’t even that wide.

The thing is, this parking spot is now available at a discounted price.
A couple of years ago, the very same spot was listed for $104,000 (!).
They failed to sell it at that price (shocking), so they slashed the price (nearly) in half.
When garages and parking spots are more expensive than houses
Despite its eye-watering price, this doesn’t even make the top five on the world’s most expensive parking spots list.
This is becoming such a crucial issue that real estate agents sometimes use garages and parking spots as a selling point for the property.
For example there’s a mansion in Dubai with an underwater garage that’s large for 15 supercars.

Things are even more complicated in places like London, New York, or even Monaco because there are a lot of people who want to live there, but there is not enough space for everyone.
