It’s not every day you see someone buy a submarine for themselves, and this case of a man who bought a personal submarine that was once installed on a Swedish yacht is certainly something worth looking at.

People worldwide buy a lot of unusual vehicles — from used cars to yachts — because why not?

This man, however, thought that it was a great idea to get a submarine, but it wasn’t all diamonds and rosé.

You see, he couldn’t just hand it in for regular maintenance and cruise underwater — not without some serious work, at least.

Man bought a personal submarine to go on an adventure

YouTuber, Jiggin’ With Jordan, purchased a 1998 Sport Sub submarine to explore the underwater world.

This Sport Sub was on a Swedish yacht before it was at a dealership, which is why it also had winches on its top.

Moreover, this vessel didn’t exactly come off as a proper submarine — mostly because of its size.

It was a ‘cartoonish-looking’ sub, according to Jordan.

So, he signed the paperwork but now faced one critical problem.

He had no idea how to operate it, how to get it into the water, or whether it was even functional.

Now, that’s certainly a troubling situation for anyone with a new ‘vehicle.’

Jordan further went to a submarine specialist to get it checked out and get some answers.

The personal sub was more like a project sub

The specialist said it was in remarkable condition, but before he could take a deep dive, he had to tear it apart first and put it back together.

That’s right, he had to build a submarine from scratch.

Every component in a submarine needs to be in perfect condition for it to work because hundreds of feet below the water is no place to joke around.

He also had to familiarize himself with every component of this machine because if something went sideways while he was operating it, he should be able to troubleshoot himself.

It looked like he had a long project before him, but Jordan’s excitement made it seem like he came prepared.

What’s more, it wasn’t that he didn’t know what he was getting into, so he obviously had to have some clue.
