It’s horrifying to think that the infamous Pokémon GO summer was 10 years ago, but back in 2016, Pokémon GO players once caused a massive traffic jam after a rare character from the iconic game appeared in Taiwan.
It was a normal day in the city when a stampede of people glued to their phone screens actually stopped traffic as they streamed to the location where an iconic character lay sleeping, and it was caught on camera by Reddit.
If the phrase ‘sleeping’ didn’t give it away, a big blue Snorlax was located on the map in the middle of the road – he was a super rare character to find.
Check out the footage of the stampede above and reminisce about when times were simpler, and all we cared about were getting the best and rarest digital creatures in our Pokédexes.
