The Polestar O2 Concept, which will be produced as the Polestar 6

The stunning Polestar O2 Concept is finally set to officially enter production as the Polestar 6.

However, there’s a catch – it won’t be hitting the market until 2026.

The electric roadster turned heads when it was revealed back in March, not just for its stunning styling but the fact it even has its own drone.

It lives in the back of the car and can take off to film action shots at up to 90km/h (56mph).

Once filming is complete, you can then edit and share those clips right from the car’s infotainment screen.

But the chances of that feature making production are probably slim.

However, we do know the Polestar 6 will at least retain the concept’s performance.

Polestar claims it will produce as much as 884hp (650kW) and 900Nm (663lb-ft) from its two electric motors.

That will allow the Polestar 6 to get from 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in a mere 3.2 seconds.

The company also hopes it will be able to cover 600km (373mi) on a single charge.

It will also feature a rigid bonded aluminum chassis just like the Polestar 5 sedan it will share a platform with.

Polestar already has plans for a limited-run LA Concept edition for the first 500 production examples.

Each of these cars will be individually numbered, and will wear the same Sky Blue paint as the O2 Concept.

Polestar 6 release date

Sadly, the electric sports car won’t enter production until 2026, so you’ll be waiting a while to get your hands on one.

However, Polestar is already accepting pre-orders for the LA Concept edition as of August 2022.

You can reserve yours through the company’s website, with orders accepted from all markets Polestar currently operates in.

The announcement of the Polestar 6’s production plans comes ahead of the brand’s presence at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance from August 18-21.

Along with the Polestar O2 Concept, you’ll also be able to catch the Supercar Blondie team there as well.
