Just as Apple CarPlay uses Siri, Tesla has Grok, and other virtual assistants are supporting more cars than ever before, Polestar has become the latest to integrate the Google Gemini AI voice assistant into every model from Polestar 2 onward.
As tech is tangling wires with cars like never before, virtual assistants have become a huge part of every EV’s journey.
From running up mixes as the DJ to piloting every route, and helping answer every question that the road has to offer, the AI voices are helping run all aspects of the car.
Swedish brand Polestar has upgraded from its previous assistant to have Google Gemini AI riding shotgun for the foreseeable future.

Google Gemini AI will support Polestar 2 and every future model
Google Gemini appears to be the in-demand virtual assistant in 2025, with Apple paying top-dollar to move away from Siri and host the upgraded AI.
Already, it has showcased incredible quality by grabbing the steering wheel of General Motors’ fleet and driving its cars into the future.
Now, Swedish brand Polestar is following suit.
Announced in today’s news releases, the EV manufacturer is continuing its five-year deal with Google to bring forth the upgraded tech bot in 2026.
Starting in every model from the Polestar 2 onwards, it will be first showcased in a demonstration in Helsinki, Finland, with the Polestar 5 acting as guinea pig.

“Our collaboration with Google is a great example of how we continue to evolve the digital experience in our cars,” Polestar Head of UI/UX Sid Odedra said.
“Gemini brings the next generation of AI voice interaction into the car, and we’re excited to give a first look at how it will enhance the driving experience.”
Virtual assistants are riding shotgun into the future of autonomy
These AI chatbots have really been racing to get in the door at different car manufacturers.
Since the beginning, it was Apple CarPlay and Siri leading the charge, but as Ford CEO Jim Farley argued, the embedded system has now reached its limitations, and brands want an assistant more in tune with every component of the vehicle.
It took Tesla to showcase that a standalone assistant is best, and now it has taken everything it has learned so far and dumped it into Grok’s brain.
That’s why many carmakers have been making their own systems, such as Vittori with the Turbio.

But, Google Gemini seems to be a very viable option, powering a number of futuristic products and signing long-term deals with Polestar and more.
The brand isn’t slowing down with its cars either, as its state-of-the-art EVs continue to be fit for James Bond.
