The Porsche Taycan is one of the premier, luxury EV cars in the world.

It has served as the German marque’s premier EV entry since 2019.

One Taycan owner has taken it on a 3,000 mile road trip across the US.

And he did it with zero range anxiety at all.

For the past few years, the EV market has experienced an enormous shift.

Brands such as Tesla and BYD have led the boom in demand for such cars.

Traditional, mainstream brands have, of course, been forced to sit up and take notice.

And one of those brands just so happens to be Porsche.

The Stuttgart giant decided to get itself involved in the EV game in 2019.

The 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show saw the covers thrown off what would become the Taycan.

Its powertrain sports two electric motors and an enormous battery.

And that powertrain has been put to good use in today’s story.

A Porsche Taycan owner, called, “cometguy”, has posted about a road trip.

He has posted about his 3,000 mile journey on a Taycan forum online.

The user claims he has driven from New England to Minnesota and back.

To give you a rough idea, that’s roughly a 3,000 mile round trip.

What is interesting about this journey is that the user claims he never had range anxiety.

The Taycan offers a maximum electric range of around 288 miles on a full charge.

So how was he able to complete such a journey with zero range anxiety?

As it turns out, it all comes down to one key thing – planning.

“The lack of range anxiety comes from being prepared ahead of time: I mapped out my westbound charging stops a week before I left on my trip, and I followed them without deviation all the way to Minnesota.”

Aside from clearly mapping out his journey ahead of time, cometguy heavily praised the infrastructure.

The user pointed out the incredible help is was having access to DCFC charging stations.

These Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) facilities are close to traditional gas stations.

They are located at busy spots near freeways and interstate spots.

This makes EV ownership (and charging) much easier and more accessible.

If cometguy can complete a 3,000 mile round trip without issue, then perhaps EV ownership can be practical.
