Porsche’s ‘most powerful car ever’, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT, has just set an impressive lap record, beating the record set by the Taycan Turbo S in 2020.
Porsche released the all-electric Taycan Turbo GT last year and it’s a seriously impressive beast.
The Taycan Turbo GT is the most powerful Porsche ever and can produce up to 1,092 horsepower.
A lot more than the standard Taycan that’s rated at 402HP.

All of that extra horsepower under the hood means the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is fast. Very fast.
You can see for yourself what happened when it was pitted against a Porsche 911 Turbo S.

Billed as Porsche’s most powerful car ever, the Taycan can do 0-100km/h in just 2.2 seconds and has a top speed of 305km/h.
The car was recently put through its paces at the Road Atlanta track where it acquired a new record for its growing collection.
Porsche took a 2025 Purple Sky Taycan Turbo GT fitted with the lightweight Weissach Package.
The Weissach Package makes the car a lot lighter by removing the back seats and replacing them with a carbon fiber shelf, it also adds a new fixed rear wing to help the EV’s aerodynamics.
On the day, racing driver Patrick Long clocked a time of just 1: 27.15 on the 2.54-mile track which is impressive.
“I expected precise steering, but I didn’t realize how perfectly the Porsche Active Ride system would compensate for the car’s body motion,” Long said.

It managed to knock 6.73 seconds off the previous record, set by a Taycan Turbo S in 2020, when it completed a lap in 1:33.88.
The Turbo GT has been a bit of a record setter for Porsche, having already set a new record on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife loop.
The Taycan Turbo GT managed it in just seven minutes, 7.55 seconds, making it the fastest four-door production vehicle to take to the track.
Meanwhile, the Taycan Turbo S earned an unusual record after an appearance in the 2025 action thriller Den of Thieves 2: Panthera.
According to the movie’s director, the Taycan was the first EV to feature in a Hollywood car chase, which is a pretty cool claim to fame.
