Qatar Airways just added Starlink to Business Class on its Boeing 777 fleet and now has the world’s fastest Wi-Fi in the sky.

It feels ironic that we can’t get Wi-Fi in the room next to the router, but in the literal sky, Qatar Airways’ passengers get up to 500Mbps of connection at cruising altitude.

The airline is known for its premium experience for all passengers, but this upgrade will be seen as truly enviable for a lot of people who take more affordable airlines.

It was probably the most efficient Wi-Fi implementation programme in history, taking only nine months and finishing ahead of schedule, an efficiency that reflects the almost precision you can expect from Qatar Airways.

Of course Qatar Airways has the world’s fastest Wi-Fi in the sky

After consistently receiving accolade after accolade for its amazing service and precision, it’s no surprise that the airline has partnered with Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starlink network to bring the speediest Wi-Fi to its passengers.

Gone are the days when forgetting to download a show on Netflix before you took off left you with nothing to do for hours.

Now, with Qatar Airways, you can stream like you’re on solid ground – but at cruising altitude.

Starlink offers Business Class passengers up to 500Mbps of internet speeds across Qatar Airways’ entire Boeing 777 fleet.

Starlink is the link between Earth and sky

As with everything the airline does, this new Wi-Fi was implemented with Qatar’s signature efficiency and precision. The proposed two-year implementation program took only nine months for the whole fleet.

Every single one of the Boeing 777 fleet is now completely transformed. And the airline intends to extend the installation to its entire fleet of Airbus A350s.

So, next time you’re on a video conference and you know someone is on a plane, you have Starlink to thank for the connectivity.
